7 billionth person

Room12 had to write 5 messages for the 7 billionth person and pick 1 that they thought was the best phrase to help them during their journey through life I chose remember your roots and follow that path. I hope you like my picture.

maths

Maths: this week I have been learning to work out my nine times tables by using my tens times tables.It has made my nine times tables so much easier,but I need a little more time to work them out because I dont know them off by heart.
Writing: I have been learning about metaphors and similies.Now I know the difference between them. e.g she is as sweet as an angel or he is as ugly as an ogre.
Reading: This week I have been reading a book called Storm Breaker it is so much fun. We have to answer questions.

Speeches

In about a weeks time we have speeches I am so excited. we practiced and we had to do it in frount of a flip vidio camera, I did my practice speech about my favorite sport netball and I have one goal in speaking and it is to use eye contact sometimes the reason why I dont use eye contact while I speak is because I get a tiny tiny bit nervous. I think I did well in speaking clairly and also with expresion I hope you enjoy my practice speech.

Since last Monday room12 have been learning their learn a thon questions so we could be tested on Friday some people had to do them today [Monday 20th June] I am one of thoose people. I had to do it today because I was away on friday. I got stuck on a few questions, one of them was name the three parts of new zealand in Maori so the North Island the North
Island and Stewart Island I am hoping to get most of them right atlest over 30.

Yay its nearly my birthday I am so excited because Emily is coming around to stay for the night its so exiting . We are going to the mall for the day and we are going to see a movie .

hi my name is Melissa I love to play net ball it is fun. my favorite animals are cheetahs and dogs. My favorite subjects at school are reading and writing.I am not so good at maths.
we have four pets our two dogs are called Marco and Claude our two cats are called Missy and Mandy.My favorite foods are sushi and a good Sunday night roast lamb its just the best!!

yesterday i had parent interview I was a little bit proud of it.My mum and dad were happy at were I was at learning I have a few goals I need to work on but that is okay.I am really enjoying school at the moment!!
